This unit allowed me to investigate the crucial concern of sustainability in fashion and consider how it can be communicated through moving image in a contemporary fashion media context. I produced a fashion film that explores the theme of sustainability for Versace. I chose Versace due to it’s Spring 2021 Ready-to-wear Collection and how well it fit into the theme of sustainability and how it affects the oceans. This assignment introduced me to the history of moving image within fashion media and encouraged research into adjacent contexts such as music videos, cartoons, gaming, and cinema. I expanded on my imaging and illustration methods within the context of moving image by considering techniques of animation, narrative structures, characterization, sound, and editing. I also took numerous courses in Adobe animate, Adobe After Effects, Lightroom and Photoshop.
